The following article contains spoilers for Glass Onion. If you haven’t caught up with the film already, check out our spoiler-free review of the film here.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, came out on Netflix on December 23, 2022. It stars Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, and Daniel Craig in leading roles. As a Knives Out film, it contains a lot of mystery elements that keeps viewers on their toes.

Monáe plays Helen and her twin sister Andi Brand, which is revealed as a shocking twist at the end of the film. Monáe recently talked about her role and said that the hint is hidden cleverly in the form of her wig. Helen is seen wearing a wig when she pretends to be her sister Andi. Her wig’s hairstyle is the opposite of Andi’s hair.

“Helen’s wig is something Rian and I talked about. When she’s acting as Andi, and nobody knows it’s her, the parting of her hair is on the opposite side. The idea is that she is a mirror image of her sister,” Monáe told Variety in a recent interview.

The film’s title is inspired by the song Glass Onion by the Beatles. The lyrics of the tune reference various other songs by the band. It was made as a commentary on how fans and critics looked too deep into their lyrics to decipher them for any hidden meaning. It becomes clear why the film is named after the song, as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery pokes fun at people who read too much into the media they consume.
