Gitam launches Future Leaders Development Programme – Times of India

VISAKHAPATNAM: GITAM Deemed to be University has launched a new initiative GITAM Future Leaders Development Program (GFLDP) on Wednesday. The program was inaugurated through a webinar by TCS Vice President and Head of TCS (USA) Global Delivery Centre Damodar Padhi.

Addressing the students, Padhi shared his professional journey with the students and motivated them to overcome the obstacles and become leaders in their respective domains by focusing on excellence.

GITAM Career Guidance Centre head and career services assistant dean, Commander Gurumoorthiy Gangadharan, said that it is a strategic initiative taken up with the vision to “enable every student to fulfil his/her dream career choice”, be it a campus placement, entrepreneurship, family business, government services or higher studies in India or abroad. “The career aspirations of the students are identified during the formative years and are groomed throughout the academic journey for them to achieve their goals through GFLDP,” he added.

Gangadharan further informed that the program does not only focus on the knowledge and skill development of the students, but it also nurtures a person to think and act responsibly, and be empathic towards fellow human beings. “Prominent industry leaders are invited to share their success stories with the GFLDP for the students to learn from the deeds of the leaders and emulate the standards in their own ways,” he added.
