As of this moment, we are in the middle of Genshin Impact’s v2.5 Update and players everywhere are enjoying Yae Miko and the new story quests. However, everyone is already looking forward to v2.6, thinking about what to expect, calculating how many primogems we will need to save for the arrival of Kamisato Ayato and a possible Ayaka/Kazuha rerun.
Thanks to the hard work of leakers, more information has surfaced about what to expect from v2.6: Ayato, The Chasm, an Irodori Festival based in Inazuma, banner and weapon speculation. But one bit of information stood out: the reappearance of Scaramouche.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Scaramouche, but it seems like we might have to wait a while longer than usual. According to a new leak posted by credible Genshin leaker Lumie, we have some insight into what we could expect in the next update:
Scaramouche will not have a physical presence in 2.6

According to this leak, Scaramouche may not be seen in person during the storyline or new events for v2.6 but in-game hints and information could surface about his plans or backstory.
Players have witnessed new reveals around Scaramouche, which had led many to believe that we could be getting closer to a playable Scaramouche. Several unconfirmed leaks have surfaced claiming that Scaramouche could be the first male Catalyst we will see in Genshin Impact, as well as having an Electro vision. These rumors are yet to be confirmed, nor has the character gone into Beta yet.
The hype around Scaramouche actually started slightly sooner, during the Unreconciled Stars event. His first appearance startled players and many were excited to explore the backstory of this new potential antagonist.
In the Omnipresence over Mortals quest, players once again meet Scaramouche in the Delusions Factory and goes on to reveal how he was not responsible for Delusions, before attacking the Traveler, who collapses and is later on saved by Yae Miko. During this meeting, Yae strikes a deal with Scaramouche and gives Ei’s Gnosis to him, in exchange for the Traveler’s life.
In v2.2, we saw that he ended up keeping Raiden Ei’s Gnosis after taking it from Yae, which sparked a host of new theories. The fact that he kept it for himself made him an antagonist in the eyes of the Fatui and Childe was eventually sent to Inazuma to track him down.
While a physical appearance can be ruled out, we might still get references about the highly anticipated character soon, either in the next update or the one after that.
