NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top 25 Poll
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Four Mid-South teams are mentioned in the NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is the highest-rated team in the poll at No. 3. The Blue Raiders garnered 403 points in the poll and are 2-0 this season. Lindsey Wilson travels to Cumberlands on Saturday to open up MSC play.
Georgetown (Ky.) is the second conference school in the top 10. The Tigers are slotted 10th with 298 points. Georgetown is off to a 2-0 start and opens conference play on Saturday at home against Faulkner (Ala.)
Bethel (Tenn.) is the final MSC team in the top 25. The Wildcats are 16th in the poll with 177 points. Bethel is 3-0 this season with a victory against then No. 9 Reinhardt (Ga.). The Wildcats open MSC play on September 24 when they host Pikeville (Ky.).
Cumberland (Tenn.) is mentioned in the receiving votes section with five points. The Phoenix are 2-0 and open conference play at Pikeville on Saturday.
Morningside (Iowa) sits atop the poll with 444 points and all 19 first-place votes. Grand View (Iowa) is second with 427 points. Northwestern (Iowa) and Marian (Ind.) round out the top five with 388 and 384 points, respectively.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. Each conference is given one rater for every four schools in the league.
The next poll is scheduled to come out on Monday, September 19.
