Fortnite Rocket Racing out NOW – How to play, Rocket League items and gameplay

UPDATE: Fortnite’s new Rocket Racing in-game experience is out now on all platforms. The new Rocket Racing game mode launches with 26 tracks and 12-person multiplayer. Fans can find Rocket Racing by visiting the Discover screen within Fortnite, visiting the “By Epic” section and selecting Rocket Racing. The game supports multiple control schemes, although Epic recommends using a controller. Fans can also use their Rocket League card in Rocket Racing, so long as it’s the same account.

“Take your favorite Rocket League cars on new adventures!” Epic explains. “All players have a Locker in Fortnite, and in the “Vehicle” section you can equip a car to use in Rocket Racing.

“A Fortnite Vehicle consists of three types of Locker items: Car Bodies, Decals, and Wheels. If you own the Octane, Cyclone, Jäger 619 or Lamborghini Huracán STO Car Bodies in Rocket League, you also now own them in your Fortnite Locker!”

ORIGINAL: After the launch of a new Chapter in Battle Royale, plus a brand new LEGO survival experience, Epic is back with another new release within the world of Fortnite. An arcade driving experience developed by Psyonix, Rocket Racing has a December 8 release date on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Android. The new Rocket Racing arcade game is scheduled to go live with the next shop reset at 3pm GMT UK time.

The launch of Rocket Racing was preceded by the release of a new trailer during last night’s Game Awards showcase.

As you can see from the video below, Rocket Racing will feature over-the-top driving action.

Courses will seemingly feature rifts, which fire obstacles at the player in the middle of a race.

The windy, colourful courses also contain shortcuts and alternative routes, not to mention anti-grav sections for driving upside down.

Indeed, according to the official description, players can drift, fly and boost through courses.

“Rocket Racing is a supersonic arcade racer where players drift, fly, and boost with friends through an ever-growing selection of tracks,” reads an Epic post.

“Rocket Racing is developed by Psyonix, the visionary team behind Rocket League, and will be available to play on December 8, 2023 in Fortnite with an E rating.”

The launch of Rocket Racing will be followed by the release of a new music-based experience titled Fortnite Festival on December 9.

“Fortnite Festival is a new music game where players can play in a band with friends or perform solo on stage with hit music by their favourite artists. Built by Harmonix, the studio behind the iconic music game Rock Band, Festival marks the beginning of music gaming in Fortnite.”

Things kick off this weekend with a guest appearance by The Weekend.
