Fortnite down – How long are servers offline for update 25.20

Fortnite developer Epic Games is taking the game offline for update 25.20. Available for PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC, update 25.20 will be available to download on the morning of July 26. It will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which means you won’t be able to play Fortnite for at least a couple of hours. If you want to know when you can log back into Fortnite, check out the 25.20 server downtime schedule below.

The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside details on when servers will be taken offline for maintenance.

“Embrace the future in 25.20,” reads an Epic tweet. “Downtime begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking disabled shortly beforehand.”

For UK fans, this means that Fortnite will be taken offline in full at 9am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 8.30am.

Epic hasn’t revealed exactly when downtime will come to an end, but maintenance typically lasts for around a couple of hours.

This means Fortnite should be back online by 11am BST UK time at the latest.

As you can see from the YouTube trailer above, the Futurama crossover headlines the latest Fortnite update.

According to a leak on 4Chan, the Futurama skins include Fry, Bender and Leela.

Fans will also reportedly be able to purchase Mind-Control Parasite Backbling for Fry, as well as the Nibbler Backbling for Leela. Expect additional items to be revealed during the downtime.

Elsewhere, update 25.20 will unvault the Kinetic Boomerang, introduce additional shop items, add the August Crew Pack to the game files and lots more.

That’s on top of the usual bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, plus one or two surprises.
