Chandigarh, December 28

In November, Priyanka Chopra Jonas decided to remove her husband American singer-songwriter Nick Jonas’ last name from her social media handles. Both Twitter and Instagram had no Jonas in her name and that got her fans and followers talking.

A worried lot, they were shocked at the actress removing ‘Jonas’ from her accounts. Speculations were rife that her marriage with Nick was in trouble. There were also rumours that the two are headed for a divorce.

Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra spoke to News18 and refuted her daugther’s divorce rumours. This probably wasn’t enough and fans wanted a direct answer from the actress. Finally, Priyanka spoke about dropping Jonas from social media. As quoted by News18, Priyanka told ETimes, “I don’t know. I wanted the username to match my Twitter, I guess. I just find it really amusing that everything becomes such a huge deal to people. It’s social media, guys. Just chill out!”

Busy filming her upcoming series Citadel in London, the actress says she had a tough year away from her husband and family. She said, “This year has been really tough. It was really, really tough to be away from home for an entire year, especially at a time when you can’t travel to see your family. I was just alone.”
