Farhan Akhtar has penned an appreciation post for the makers of the upcoming web series Ms Marvel. Farhan will appear in a guest role in the series, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor was all praises for the series in a post he shared on his Twitter account on Tuesday, a day before it starts streaming on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. Farhan said that Ms Marvel, which stars Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan– Marvel’s first teen Muslim superhero, is a celebration of diversity. He also said that he is proud to be part of the conscious inclusiveness of Marvel.
Farhan captioned the post, “In gratitude (red heart emoji) #MsMarvel out tomorrow.” It read, “Tomorrow, 8th June, will see the release of the first episode of Ms Marvel on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. This post is in appreciation of the creators, the directors, and all those in front and behind the camera, who collaborated to make Ms Marvel what it is. It is in appreciation of Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for her guidance through my days of working on it.”
Farhan added, “It is an appreciation of Marvel. I’m proud to be part of their conscious inclusiveness. This show is a celebration of diversity and it certainly will bring joy and pride of self-identity to millions of young girls and boys of the sub-continent. And last but not least, it is in appreciation of the wonderfully talented Iman Vellani. Be prepared to be thoroughly entertained and effortlessly charmed by her. Thank you and good luck, Team Ms Marvel.”
Ms Marvel follows Iman’s Kamala as an Avengers fan who discovers that she too has superpowers. Details of Farhan’s character have been kept under wraps. The series also stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, apart from Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha. It will start streaming on Disney+ globally and on Disney+ Hotstar in India, starting June 8.
