IGN can exclusively reveal that not only will iam8bit be selling physical vinyl records, CDs, and even cassette tapes of The Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack, but it will also be producing a special 7″ single vinyl that features Bowser’s ‘Peaches’ song on the A side and the classic ‘Mario Bros. Rap’ on the B side.
While the digital soundtrack for The Super Mario Bros. movie will be available tomorrow, April 7, these physical versions will ship in Q3 2023, complete with all 36 tracks that were created from a collaboration between Nintendo composer Koji Kondo and composer Brian Tyler of Fast & Furious series, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Crazy Rich Asians fame.
The previously mentioned special 7″ vinyl single with Bowser’s ‘Peaches” and the ‘Mario Bros. Rap’ will cost $12.99. The 2xLP vinyl, on the other hand, features the entire soundtrack, a “magnificent gatefold jacket designed by Scott Saslow that showcases art straight from the stellar team at Illumination,” and “playful record sleeves that feature a pattern of familiar Super Mario Bros. icons.”
The vinyl album will cost $42.99 and is pressed in red and green. iam8bit will also be selling a special pink and yellow colorway for those who want something a little different.
The CD, which retails for $19.99, will have the full soundtrack on two discs in a “premium four-panel package.”
Lastly, the cassette tape will cost $19.99 and will randomly be either Mario Red or Luigi Green.
All of these physical releases are available to pre-order on iam8bit.com and are, once again, expected to ship in Q3 2023.
