Amplitude Studios and Sega have announced that Endless Dungeon has been delayed to October 19. The game was originally set to launch on May 18.
“This additional time will allow Amplitude to better incorporate community feedback essential to such an innovative game and continue in the footsteps of its previous titles in the award-winning Endless Universe,” Sega explained in a statement. “Drawing on player feedback, Amplitude will work on improvements including balancing, meta-progression, onboarding, and general polishing to create the ultimate roguelite experience for players.”
The game will be available in Early Access on October 17 for those who preorder the “Last Wish” Digital Edition on PC and consoles. The Nintendo Switch version doesn’t have a release date yet, but it will be revealed at a later date.
Endless Dungeon is a twin-stick tower defense shooter game where players control a three-person squad while exploring an abandoned space station. The objective of each level is to protect a Crystal Bot as it moves toward a door. The game has roguelite elements where players can receive upgrades and weapon attachments before attempting subsequent runs after dying.
Endless Dungeon was first revealed at The Game Awards 2020. In GameSpot’s Endless Dungeon preview, we said, “Endless Dungeon offers a more rambunctious and silly narrative within the studio’s Endless games, a primarily 4X strategy series with traditionally dramatic and serious stories. It’s a welcoming first step into a universe I’ve often heard friends talk about but never managed to actually get into. Plus, it’s pretty fun!”
