Elden Ring developer FromSoftware has just announced the release of a new free Player Vs Player (PvP) update on December 7. The Colosseum update will add a new PvP battlefield, where players can take part in multiplayer duels against other members of the Elden Ring community.
FromSoftware made the announcement with a trailer highlighting what players can expect in the upcoming update. The developers didn’t reveal much about how players can band together for these battles. However, it’s likely that they will share more details about it when the update goes live today on December 7.

Elden Ring fans have more reasons to be excited after the release of the Colosseum update. According to reports online, players are anticipating an announcement about a new DLC at The Game Awards 2022, which takes place tomorrow on Dec 8 (Dec 9, 6AM IST).
Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki talks about the game
Moreover, the game also has a pretty good chance of winning the Game of the Year Award at the event for 2022. The title recently won the Grand Award at the PlayStation Partner Awards 2022. Game director Hidetaka Miyazaka was part of the proceedings, including a Q&A session with members of the media.
When asked about the game’s success, Miyazaki couldn’t exactly provide a reason behind it. He said, “Honestly, I haven’t analyzed it much.” (via IGN)
The man behind franchises like Sekiro, Dark Souls and Bloodborne further shared that he doesn’t analyze his games much, as he doesn’t want to duplicate the experience in future projects. “I try not to think about it too much, because I think it would be a bad idea to analyze it deeply and to consciously try to replicate it in another game,” revealed Miyazaki.
