Elden Ring is a game that is rising to the top with every single day. It was one of the most anticipated games of 2022 and FromSoftware has matched all the expectations that players had for the game. It is a game that inculcates Souls type combat into a vibrant open-world system filled with dark and elusive enemies in every nook and corner. Even though the difficulty level of this game is high, it also rewards the player accordingly, either through exploration or by taking down enemies and bosses.

Elden Ring has a comprehensive class system and having an understanding of a specific class can take down the difficulty of the game by a notch or two. With this class the players begin with an Estoc melee weapon, shield, staff, and a basic spell to begin with.

Spells and Equipment

One of the first things that players should do is head over to the Waypoint Ruins. Once there, they should look for the Sorcery Trader and buy the Glintstone Pebble, Scholar’s Armament, and the Carian Slicer incantations. Around the same area, players can look for the Royal House Scroll and give it to the Trader to unlock more spells to purchase. Players will have to look for a Memory Stone in Oridys’s Rise to unlock the third memory slot for their spell.

A great equipment pick for the Prisoner Class will be the Demi-Human Queen’s Staff. To unlock this piece of equipment, players will have to defeat the Field Boss that is causing chaos in the Weeping Peninsula.

Prisoner Class Combat Strategy

As the Prisoner Class in Elden Ring is dextrous and intelligent, the player can choose to carry two different types of weapons in each hand. In one hand the players can carry the starting weapon Estoc, and carry the Demi-Human Queen Staff in the other. The Estoc also has a powerful special ability called Impaling Thrust. This can be used to get out of a tricky situation as it has great range and damage. The players can use the Scholar’s Armament incantation while wielding the Estoc to buff the damage stats of the weapon for a limited amount of time.

Carian Slicer is an incantation that players will put in action when they need to take down stronger enemies and the scarier bosses. This incantation inflicts great damage and the players just need to understand the enemy’s moves and execute their attacks at the right time to unleash their wrath on any type of enemy.

For the enemies that are at a distance and also for crowd control, the players can use the Glintstone Pebble Incantation. This ranged attack will take down the weaker enemies almost instantly. It can also be used to cut off a significant amount of health from a boss while keeping a distance.

Building the Prisoner Class in Elden Ring

While using the Prisoner Class in this game, players will see themselves get up close and personal with enemies at almost all times. This is due to the stronger melee attack power this class holds. Due to these situations, the players will find themselves catching damage from enemy attacks too often. Increasing the Vigor stat will increase the survivability of the player by decreasing the amount of damage they take with each enemy attack.

The next stat that players should focus on is Intelligence as this build can use magic as well as melee attacks. Building up the Intelligence stat will allow the players to inflict more damage through their incantations. The third stat that needs the attention of the players is the Dexterity stat which will increase the amount of damage inflicted by the player’s melee attacks. The Dexterity stat will also reduce the time taken to cast spells, therefore making the spell casting a lot faster.

Talismans

In the Prisoner build, a Talisman would be essential for the players in the dangerous world of Elden Ring. There are two recommended Talismans for the Prisoner Class in Elden Ring, the first one being the Blessed Dew Talisman and the second being Green Turtle Talisman. The Blessed Dew Talisman will slowly restore the health of the player, which will reduce the amount of potions the players would need to consume during battle. The Green Turtle Talisman will help restoring Stamina, which is essential as all attacks of the Prisoner Class consume a generous amount of Stamina.
