Elden Ring: Players Finished and Quit the FromSoftware Title the Most in 2022

Elden Ring, the open-world action-RPG from FromSoftware, is a divisive title from 2022. Many gamers are fans of its challenging gameplay and world-building, while others find that the difficulty doesn’t make for an enjoyable experience for them. However, data from HowLongToBeat.com shows that Elden Ring was the most completed game of 2022, with nearly 6,000 users reporting that they had finished the game.

The same site also gives us insight on how many players “retired” from Elden Ring. Around 261 players gave up on playing the game, according to the data. Even though the number is meagre, it still makes Elden Ring the most-quit game of 2022.

It should be kept in mind that the data only represents users who log their playing habits on HowLongToBeat.com. It does not represent the majority of the Elden Ring playerbase in any way. However, the data is still useful in understanding what games people are finishing or quitting the most, even if it is just from one website.

This is not really that surprising because Elden Ring is considered one of 2022’s best games. The game received rave reviews from critics upon launch and won several awards including Game of the Year award. Elden Ring was also the most talked about game of the year, as well as one of the top sellers on Steam.

Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaka has also promised that more Elden Ring content is on the way, so fans who have finished the game already still have more to look forward to.
