EA Sports FC 24: Here Are All the Changes Coming to Ultimate Team

Electronic Arts is looking to give a new identity to its series of football games with FC 24 debuting as the start of a new era. A lot of information on what the next game will look like and deliver has been revealed by the company so far, which you can read in our comprehensive coverage of everything coming to FC 24 including playstyles, Hypermotion V, precision pass, new menu UI, commentary team, and more. Many are still waiting for EA FC 24 player ratings but they have not been revealed yet.

FC 24 Ultimate Team

There is no doubt that over the years, Ultimate Team has been the driving force behind the commercial success of FIFA titles. FC 24 will be no exception and there are some key changes as well as introductions coming to Ultimate Team. For starters, Ultimate Team will feature women footballers across all game modes within Ultimate Team including Rivals, Champions, Squad Battles, Draft, Friendlies, and more. There will continue to be a single marketplace for all players, men and women, in FC 24. Each and every women player card introduced can also be used for completing objectives as well as SBCs (squad building challenges). Players will be able to create mixed squads, consisting of both men and women football players to hop into matches as well.

FC 24 Evolution explained

Evolution is one of the biggest introductions for FC 24 gameplay. This new feature will allow players to upgrade their squad players’ base stats to turn them into better player cards. Any player who fits the requirements for evolution can be evolved including all promo cards and team of the week cards that will release during FC 24. You can also acquire new playstyles including playstyles+ on the evolved versions of the player. EA has said that Evolution will be held seasonally, so a player can get upgrades during each season of FC 24 if they meet the requirements. It is unknown yet what those requirements will be but they are likely to change with each season.

You can evolve certain areas of a player’s attributes including shooting, physical, defending, pace, passing and dribbling by completing objectives themed around that area. For example, to improve a player’s shooting, an objective of scoring goals may require completion in order to evolve the player. Not just attributes, you can even evolve the player to learn an entirely different position, meaning a striker can be turned into a midfielder and more.

Position modifier removed

Everyone who played FIFA 23 remembers how frustrating it was to acquire a position modifier each time they wanted to change a player’s position from their main position to an alternate position or vice-versa. EA has announced that FC 24 will remove the position modifier item altogether. There will be no steps required to change a player’s available position. You can simply move them into a different position in the formation and if their main or alternate position allows them to play in that position, then their card would automatically change to reflect that position.

Players will no longer have to search specific positions in club to find players as well. Any player who has their main position as CAM and an alternate position as RM, for example, will appear when you search for RM position players in your squad.

FC 24 chemistry changes explained

All men and women players can be linked in your squad through chemistry links in FC 24. The link can be created through shared nationalities and clubs. This means that any player with France nationality, both men and women, can be linked in your squad. Similarly, Chelsea F.C. Women’s Sam Kerr can have a green link with Chelsea men’s Christopher Nkunku.

Speaking of chemistry, FC 24 will improve how icons contribute to the new chemistry system that was introduced in FIFA 23. All icons in FC 24 will now give a chemistry link to all the leagues available in the game.

Accelerate 2.0 explained

FIFA 23 introduced controlled, explosive and lengthy players last year. There was a lot of discussion and controversy around lengthy players in Ultimate Team as they dominated throughout the year. This year with FC 24, EA will be introducing new levels to the sprint types. A total of seven different sprint types will be available in FC 24, as EA looks to bring more balance between each of these broad categories.

Playstyles and Playstyles+ in Ultimate Team

Ultimate Team will also be featuring playstyles and playstyles+. Unlike Clubs and player career mode, it will be slightly different for Ultimate Team players to have their squad members have a playstyle of their choosing. Apart from Evolution, there is no way to change playstyles at will. Evolution also has its own limitation as the player has to fulfill the requirements for evolution.

However, Ultimate Team will have various promo cards throughout the year as well as team of the week cards that will come with varying playstyles and playstyles+ equipped on different players. Team of the week cards of a player can come equipped with a second playstyles+ that they displayed during real-world matches. There are a total of 34 different playstyles heading to FC 24. Each of these playstyles will have a playstyles+ version which enhances the abilities, making it 68 playstyles in the game.

Here are some of the playstyles coming to FC:

• Trickster: This gives players more ball-flicking animations to beat opponents
• Deadball: These are for free kick specialists, making it easier for players to see the trajectory of the ball when you hit free kicks.
• Power header: As the name suggests, players with this playstyle hit headers with more strength.
• Power shot: Similar to power header, this playstyle unlocks more powerful footed-shots from a player.
• Speed dribbler: This provides a boost to fast on-ball movement for players with this playstyle
• Block: This is a trait for defenders and allows them to blocks shots much more efficiently.

New UI for Ultimate Team

FC 24 is set to overhaul its UI across the game and Ultimate Team has also received some changes in navigation. There will be now a shortcuts section when playing Ultimate Team allowing players to jump from one section to another without having to go all the way back to the main page in Ultimate Team. This non-linear navigation system has been introduced to make it easier for players to hop from and to SBCs, transfers, objective, squad, stadium and more.
