EA Makes History by Predicting Four FIFA World Cup Winners in a Row

Last night was unprecedented and arguably one of the most magical nights for Football. Messi finally achieved his dream of taking the world cup back home to Argentina. The match was as exciting as it gets, Argentina seemed to be winning the match, but Mbappe and France pulled it to extra time by scoring 2 goals within 2 minutes. Both PSG players scored in extra time too and the match was finally decided through penalties.

Many players and organizations had made predictions for this World Cup, but one of them stands out. Yes, we are talking about the prediction EA did through a simulation using the World Cup mode available in its’ FIFA 23 title. As reported previously, EA predicted that France and Argentina would reach the finals. They were wrong about the score though as they predicted Argentina to win 1-0, but the final score was 3-3.

The more surprising fact is that they have predicted the FIFA World Cup winners 4 times in a row. The first one being the 2010 one where they correctly predicted Spain to win. Then came the one in 2014 where again they were able to predict Germany as the winners. 2018’s World Cup prediction was also correct as France took it home and they have done it again for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

This only goes to say that their football simulation title is not that different from reality. Even though they were not able to predict the top scorer of the tournament or England’s exit correctly, it is still a monumental moment for them to make multiple correct predictions.

However, it seems EA is only correct with its predictions for FIFA and has not experienced the same luck with other titles under its belt. As reported by VGC, out of the last 11 Super Bowls, they have only managed to predict 5 of them correctly. Although, they predicted Super Bowl 49 with such perfection that they even got the score right for the match between England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.
