Here’s more.

During a promotion for the final episode of the Apple TV Series Silo Season 1, Ferguson was questioned about Dune: Part 2. The first movie from 2021 has been a massive hit, under the direction of Denis Villeneuve. It went on to be nominated for 10 Oscars at the 94th Academy Awards, of which it won 6, including for Original Score (designed by Hans Zimmer). However, speaking to Collider, Fergusson suggests that Dune 2 is even better. She said in a statement,

“I’m smiling so much right now. It’s so fucking good. I get emotional talking about it because I love Denny [Villeneuve] and I love Greig [Fraser] and I love the team. But dude, number one is phenomenal and big and grandiose, and then you go close-ups and the imagery and the acting. Yeah, it’s all great. It’s fucking nothing compared to number two. Number two, it’s like a fucking gut punch. It’s unreal.”

She further explained that she hasn’t seen the film, but has read the script, and seen the footage. However, Ferguson also added that she has been visiting the Dune 2 set even when she’s not filming, which apparently is not something that she generally does. But with Dune2, Ferguson said,

“I wanted to see the setups. I wanted to see Austin Butler do what he was doing. It’s unbelievable. There are no words. The costumes, [Jacqueline West’s] costumes, what Austin’s bringing to that character, what Christopher Walken does. I mean, it’s unreal.”

Dune, released in 2021, boasted of an ensemble cast, comprising of Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Fergusson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, and Stellan Skarsgard amongst others. Zendaya appeared in a short role in the movie as Chani, whose story will be explored further in Dune 2, alongside Chalamet’s Paul Atreides. Dune 2 reportedly plans to expand its ensemble cast by roping in actors like Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Dune: Part Two will hit theatres worldwide on November 3, 2023.
