The $250,000 Fortnite event, meanwhile, wrapped up with GXR Malibuca and Th0masHD taking the title for the Duos competition. Additionally, the top 10 Duos players from DreamHack Dallas qualified for the Gamers8 Featuring Fortnite event later this year where $2 million is up for grabs.
Another pro gaming event that took place at DreamHack Dallas was the Collegiate Rocket League World Championship. The German school Dr. Buhmann claimed the crown for Hannover Esports.
Outside of the gaming competitions, DreamHack Dallas hosted a $3,000 Cosplay Championship on the event’s main stage. Halo cosplayer ODSTSax, who wears ODST armor and plays saxophone, was a fan favorite. You can see more cosplay from DreamHack in the video below.
DreamHack Dallas also hosted a concert on Saturday night featuring the metal bands Veil of Maya and Wage War. Members of Wage War walked the halls of the show, too, and even helped out with the Cosplay Championship. From the looks of the photos below, it appeared to be a rockin’ good time.
Voice actors Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect) and Debra Wilson (Star Wars Jedi: Survivor) were at the event, too, and you can see the pair having a fun time in Hale’s neat 360-degree video below.
DreamHack Dallas is over and done with, but DreamHack Summer comes to Sweden June 16-19, following by DreamHack Valencia from July 6-9. The party keeps rolling with DreamHack events in Hyderabad (October 29-31), Atlanta (December 15-17), and Hannover (December 14-17).
