Dota 2: 45 Esports Players Served with Bans for Cheating with 21 of Them Being Lifetime Bans, All You Need to Know

Cheating in online gaming has become a plague, with many using unfair advantages across every title. Online games are where players get to prove their mettle against others across the world, and using unfair means is not the right move. Things get worse when players cheat during Esports competitions, as it has a money factor involved as well/

In one of the most sensational cases of cheating in Esports, 46 players have been banned from Dota 2 events (via PC Gamer). This decision comes after thorough investigations of the allegations that surfaced during the Dota Pro Circuit competition in China. Out of the lot, Team Knights is the only roster, which has all of their players banned.

According to reports, Team Knights took help of a vision hack which led them to secure a third-place finish at the competition. They then went for rebranding, calling themselves Antarctic Penguins, but all of their squad members are on the ban list now. They still have a slot for the Spring Tour competition, but at the moment, we’re unsure whether they will be participating in the tournament.

Out of the 46 bans, 21 players have been banned for life from participating in any Dota 2 related tournament. 13 players have been served with 2-year suspensions, while the remaining 12 players will be serving 1-year suspensions. During this time, these players will not be allowed to enter any competitive space related to Dota 2. The reason for these bans has been stated as ‘interference with fair competition”.
