Disney and Pixar’s Elio, which is set to be released in theaters on March 1, 2024, has received its first trailer and poster.
Alongside the trailer and poster, it was revealed that Elio, which will be Pixar’s 28th animated feature, will see The Good Place’s Jameela Jamil and Everybody Loves Raymond’s Brad Garrett join the voice cast that already includes America Ferrera and Yonas Kibreab.
Kibreab will play Elio, while Ferrera will play his mom, Olga. Jamil and Garrett will be playing Ambassador Questa and Ambassador Grigon, respectively.
“For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers—in Disney and Pixar’s all-new movie ‘Elio,’ the universe calls back,” The official description reads. “The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be. “
Elio is directed by Adrian Molina, who served as the screenwriter and co-director of Coco, and its produced by Coco’s associate producer Mary Alice Drumm.
Pixar’s Elemental will arrive in theaters before Elio, and that film, which will be released on June 16, is about a city where fire, water, land, and air-residents all live together.
