The Witch Queen saw the beginning of the overhaul to Light subclasses in Destiny 2. First up was Void, and Sentinel Titan was blessed with a good number of powerful builds. Historically, Sentinel Titan has had access to a wide range of picks to deal remarkably high damage to bosses. While this may not be as viable now, there are still plenty of good options for Titan.
This guide will cover the main Sentinel Titan build in the game right now and guide you toward the best setup for it. All Void Fragments, Aspects, and Abilities can be purchased from Ikora in the Tower. They are all quite essential to the build here, so make sure to stock up.
Crafting Your Sentinel Build
Aspects, Fragments, Abilities, Weapons, and Exotic Armor are all important parts of every build in Destiny. Making sure you follow our recommendations and pick the best weapons for the job is important.
Void Aspects
Aspect |
Effect |
---|---|
Bastion |
Cast your Super to grant Overshield to nearby allies. Casting your Barricade grants Overshield to yourself and nearby allies and empowers it, enabling it to slowly regenerate the Overshield of allies bunkering behind it and extend their Overshield duration. |
Controlled Demolition |
Hitting a target with a Void ability or Volatile explosion makes them volatile. Further damage to a volatile target causes them to explode. Grants you and your nearby allies health when volatile targets explode near you. |
Offensive Bulwark |
While you have an Overshield or are inside a Ward of Dawn, your grenade charges significantly faster, you have increased melee range and damage, and melee final blows extend the duration of your Overshield. You gain an additional shield throw while in Sentinel Shield. |
Each aspect here is viable and can be combined with each other in any format, however, we will be looking to use Controlled Demolition and Offensive Bulwark in this build.
Void Fragments
Void has a plethora of good Fragments to choose from, but there are some that stand out among the rest. Here are some of our favorites:
Fragment |
Effect |
---|---|
Echo of Instability |
Defeating targets with grenades grants Volatile Rounds to your Void Weapons. +10 Strength |
Echo of Remnants |
Your lingering grenade effects (Vortex Grenade, Void Wall, Void Spike, and Axion Bolt) have increased duration. |
Echo of Undermining |
Your Void grenades weaken targets. -20 Discipline |
Echo of Cessation |
Finisher final blows create a burst of Void damage that causes nearby combatants to become volatile. Defeating volatile targets creates a Void Breach |
Echo of Vigilance |
Defeating a target while your shields are depleted grants you a temporary Void overshield. -10 Recovery |
Echo of Provision |
Damaging targets with grenades grants melee energy. |
These Fragments are all excellent choices and only a couple of them are necessary to the build which allows plenty of personalization with the build.
Exotic Armor
Titan has some excellent exotic armor to choose from, but the one for our build here is Heart of Inmost Light. This exotic focuses on ability regeneration and damage, which is perfect for this build as you are looking to loop your abilities to retain Void Overshields.
Heart of Inmost Light is an Exotic Chest Piece that empowers your abilities. Using an ability (Grenade, Melee, or Barricade) will empower the other two, granting them faster ability regeneration and damage. When empowered, your grenades and melees can be doing up to 20% increased damage and regenerating at a rate of 800% allowing for high ability uptime.
Armor Mods
While there are plenty of valid mods, some are better for this build than others. Here are some of the best:
- Firepower
- Grenade Kickstart
- Ashes to Assets
- Melee Kickstart
These mods are helpful for the build and enhance its power drastically.
Sentinel Build: Heart of Inmost Overshield
- Stats: Resilience, Discipline, and Strength, in that order of priority
- Aspects: Controlled Demolition and Offensive Bulwark
- Fragments: Echo of Undermining, Echo of Instability, Echo of Cessation, and Echo of Remnants
- Weapon Choice: Void weapons, Demolitionist Void weapons are even better
- Abilities: Vortex Grenade, Shield Throw, and Rally Barricade
This build aims to have high uptime on all of our abilities, making sure that we can take advantage of the Controlled Demolition healing and the ability generation that Offensive Bulwark provides. Shield Throw provides us with Overshield so that we can build towards having more abilities overall.
Armor Piece |
Mods |
---|---|
Helmet |
Ashes to Assets, Heavy Ammo Finder, Heavy Ammo Scout |
Arms |
Firepower, Grenade Kickstart, and Melee Kickstart |
Chest |
Damage resistance mods matching your enemy’s damage |
Legs |
Stacks on Stacks, Orbs of Restoration, and Innervation |
Mark |
Distribution and Reaper |
Make sure to put stat mods into your armor pieces wherever possible to reach at least maximum Resilience, and high Discipline and Strength.
These mods help keep the engine running by getting the Grenade and Melee abilities back as fast as possible. Due to the high usage of Grenades and Melees, it makes sense to have as high uptime on these abilities as possible through the use of Grenade Kickstart, Melee Kickstart, and Stacks on Stacks. Orbs of Restoration can also help with overall ability regeneration too.
This build holds strong in all pieces of content, even in the hardest parts of the game. It has high damage output with empowered Vortex Grenades, solid survivability through the healing from Controlled Demolition, and excellent support potential with Ward of Dawn, Controlled Demolition healing, and weakening enemies with your grenade.
