Lavicheats now owe Bungie a sum of $6.7 million for the lawsuit that was filed in 2021. This was a default judgement as the defendant never responded to the suit. Bungie has also stated that the cheats from Lavicheats were downloaded more than 1,700 times, and the company had to spend over $2 million on combatting these cheats.
Moreover, the $6.7 million sum has been divided into the following parts: $5,580,000 is owed due to DMCA violations, $300,000 for the violations of the Copyright Act, $579,270 for Lanham Act violations and $241,703 for the attorney fees. Furthermore, Totilo has also stated that the defendant is “believed to live in India, so I guess he doesn’t expect this to ever get to him.”
This is the third cheatmaker that Bungie has successfully sued in recent times, the first being AimJunkies, against whom it won $4,396,222 in damages and legal fees. The second one was the Romanian cheat-seller Mihai Claudiu-Florentin, against whom Bungie managed to win a sum of $12 million in damages. Cheaters should know that Bungie does not mess around.
