Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village anime film is getting a cinematic release in India, as announced by PVR Pictures. The film will be released in the country on March 17, 2023. An official poster for the Indian release was also revealed, which you can check out below:

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village is a recap of the series’ Entertainment District Arc episodes 10 and 11 with new footage from Season 3.

Demon Slayer fans will be more than excited to be able to witness the film in cinemas, as Season 3 is coming soon and is much anticipated by the anime community.

Fans call Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village a ‘scam’

Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village was also released in the United States and Canada to theatres over the weekend, and minted in $10 million.

However, there is some controversy regarding the film. Fans across Twitter and Reddit had issues with how much content the film pulls from the original series. Fans who watched the film expected that it would offer more content from the next Demon Slayer arc, but it apparently contained a lot of retelling from the previous seasons.

There were some fans who even called the anime film a “cash grab” and a “scam.” Reviews on IMDB also state that “more than half” of the film is season 2’s episodes.

However, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village is sure to flock in anime fans to cinemas. Jujutsu Kiasen 0 was a success in India, and given how popular Demon Slayer is, it wouldn’t be surprising if we see the same happen for this film. This comes after PVR Cinemas announced the Indian cinematic release of Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume anime film, as well as Sword Art Online’s second film in the Progressive series.
