Delhi to get 100 more mohalla clinics soon, Sisodia says plan to digitise all – ET HealthWorld

The government is also going to digitise mohalla clinics. Some clinics have been fully digitised with information about patients and their medical history.

On Monday, deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who was handed over charge after health minister Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate, met officials from the Public Works Department and the health department to review the project.

Sisodia said, “Delhi government’s Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics are known around the world, and people have been visiting Delhi to learn about this public healthcare model. The government’s goal is to provide primary healthcare to every resident of the city, and expanding the number of clinics is a landmark step in this direction.”

“The purpose of digitising mohalla clinics is to enable doctors to learn about their patient’s medical history with a single click. This will assist them in better diagnosing and treating patients. Mohalla clinics are the first point of detection of any disease. After digitalisation, data would be used to assess diseases before they affect people. Furthermore, such data would be crucial for development of health-related policies,” said the deputy CM.

The health department is soon going to come up with college clinics based on mohalla clinics. Recently, school clinics were launched. The college clinics would have both male and female psychologists for mental health assessment of students. The pilot project is likely to be launched at Indraprastha University, Dwarka around June end.

“We decided to go for IP University first because it is under Delhi government and quite spacious. We have identified the area for the clinic and construction work has already started,” said a senior health department official.
