Dakar Desert Rally Release Date & System Requirements Revealed

One of the biggest open-world racing games is now fast approaching, as Saber Interactive has announced that Dakar Desert Rally will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 4th 2022.

The publisher also revealed the official PC system requirements for the upcoming sports game, showing players will at least need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 graphics along with an Intel Core i5 processor to run the game at minimum settings. Whilst those who wish to run the game on higher settings to get the smoothest experience will require an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU.

Dakar Desert Rally is now available to pre-order for $39.99 via its official website. Players can also opt for the deluxe edition for $59.99 to receive five future DLC packs with new vehicles and rally events.

According to the game’s official description, Dakar Desert Rally will offer the largest rally racing experience with a vast open world. It seems like the developer team aims to create a counterpart to the Forza Horizon series with a different concept, emphasizing its sprawling world and a wide array of vehicle options such as trucks, motorcycles, cars, quads, and SUVs. Additionally, more than 30 stages from the previous games will be carried over to the latest entry in the series.

Dakar Desert Rally features an offline single-player mode in which players will build up their racing careers, as well as also having the ability to complete in-game events with their friends in online multiplayer mode. Alongside vehicles, a slew of licensed pilots, teams, and well-designed steering wheels will specialize in their off-road experience. In addition to a dynamic weather system letting players encounter sandstorms, rain, snow, and abrasive sunlight alone, players will encounter more obstacles to overcome as the game progresses.
