Cyberpunk 2077: How To Get The Satori Katana

Cyberpunk 2077 provides players with a multitude of ways in which they can tackle the game. Gun-centric builds can mow down enemies with the biggest, baddest assault rifle they can find, Netrunners can hack their way to success, and melee fighters can do a no-weapon run with the right build.

But, for Samurai builds, finding the right Katana and cutting down enemies in half is the name of the game. The Satori Katana is a powerful weapon in the right build, made all the more enticing because of its availability from the very start of the story. Finding it is a matter of looking at the right place at the right time.

Where Is The Satori Katana

The Satori Katana is only available once, very early on in the game, during the mission titled “The Heist.” The only way to get this weapon in the game is to nab it during the course of the mission. Once “The Heist” is over, getting your hand on the Satori Katana is impossible. You’ll either have to mod it in or reload from an earlier save.

How To Get The Heist Sword (Satori Katana)

1. Wait for “The Heist” to start. This is a main story mission that will trigger automatically as you progress through the game.
2. During the course of the mission, you’ll have to sneak around Yorinobu Arasaka’s room inside a hotel to eavesdrop on a scripted encounter between Saburo and Yorinobu Arasaka.
3. *SPOILER* To get the Satori Katana, you have to wait for a cutscene where Yorinobu kills his father in a fit of rage. The sword is locked behind a locked door that doesn’t get unlocked until after the cutscene.

4. After the cutscene has played and Yorinobu leaves the room, you’ll be prompted to head to the window by T-Bug.
5. T-bug will say she’s been compromised, and the balcony door will open.
6. Don’t go out the balcony, as that will trigger the next part of the mission. Instead, use the stairs leading up to the roof. The glass door blocking the path should be unlocked now.
7. On the roof, you’ll encounter two guards protecting Cyberpunk’s version of a helicopter called an AV.
8. Take them out with the help of Jackie to get to the AV.

9. Open the AV, and you’ll see the Satori Katana inside. Grab it and finish the mission.

With this, you’ll have obtained the Satori Katana permanently, and now it’s yours to keep.

How Good Is The Satori Katana

The Satori Katana is an incredibly powerful melee weapon in the right hands. Using it to its full potential requires you to optimize your build around this weapon. By default, this weapon has a low Crit Rate but insane Crit Damage.

The optimal build for this Katana requires you to stack Crit Rate using Cyberware as much as possible. With the right build, you can increase its damage numbers to staggering levels.

A common mistake players make when making a build around this Katana is upgrading it to Legendary early. It’s best to wait until the late game (around Level 40 at least) to craft a Legendary Satori Katana. This way, you’ll be able to complete an entire playthrough with this Katana as your main weapon.
