When Cyberpunk 2077 initially launched in December 2020, it was an absolute mess, and fans and critics alike panned the game as a technical salad of bugs and glitches that marred the overall experience. But, here we are with millions of players thoroughly enjoying Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam Deck, and it’s running quite well overall at this point. Who would have thought such a massive open world would be possible on a handheld system?
It’s not enough to launch the game and hope for the best, though. Instead, players must perform minor tweaks and alter game and system settings for Cyberpunk 2077 to function well on Valve’s impressive handheld. Here’s how to run Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam Deck with only minor bumps in the road. After all, it’s a truly massive open world!
Is Cyberpunk 2077 Verified On Steam Deck?
CD Projekt RED took quite the hit when Cyberpunk 2077 failed to perform, but since the rocky launch, the studio has made good on its promises and delivered an exceptional open-world role-playing game. Even better is they went a step above. The team worked overtime to ensure Cyberpunk 2077 worked pretty flawlessly on Steam Deck.
In March 2023, the studio announced Cyberpunk 2077 was officially verified and running on Steam Deck. Essentially, this means the game runs without drastic tweaks, as the game displays all controller icons correctly, the in-game interface is legible, the default graphics settings work out of the box, and functionality is present.
Still, players should tweak their settings for optimal performance.
