Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials on Wednesday interrogated BJP Chakdaha MLA Bankim Ghosh’s daughter-in-law and BJP Bankura MLA Niladri Sekhar Dana’s daughter for irregularities in recruitment in AIIMS Kalyani at their residences. It is alleged that both were recruited at AIIMs Kalyani on contractual basis.
Four CID officials visited MLA Bankim Ghosh’s residence today morning and interrogated him for around two hours, sources said. Niladri Sekahr Dana’s daughter was also interrogated simultaneously.
Names of relatives of four BJP MLAs had come up in this connection. The CID has taken over investigation in connection with alleged recruitment irregularities at AIIMS Kalyani in Nadia district of Bengal in the first week of June, where names of MoS Subhas Sarkar, Ranaghat MP Jagannath Sarkar and Bankura MLA Niladrisekhar Dana have come up.
Niladrisekhar Dana has slammed Trinamool Congress for CID investigations.
The CID has lodged a FIR in this connection, based on a complaint filed by one Sariful Islam from Murshidabad on May 20 in Nadia police station, which had started investigation. Sariful, also an applicant at AIIMS alleged corruption and use of power.
The FIR, which names seven people in total, was filed under Section 420 (Cheating), 406 (Criminal Breach of Trust), 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
