Counter-Strike 2 Fans Convinced Valve Is Not Handing Out Beta Invites Anymore

Counter-Strike players seem convinced that Valve has stopped handing out CS2 limited play testing invites. Majority of the gamers feel that Valve has made the decision to create a massive hype for the game when it launches in Summer 2023.

CSGO players voiced out their feelings in a recent Reddit post (as highlighted by Dexerto) where they discussed about the lack of beta game codes being distributed amongst fans.

A player wrote, “I’d say it’s safe [to assume Valve won’t be sending more invites]. Without any proof or evidence, I am 100 percent sure Valve is Cartmanland-ing CS2 so that it absolutely explodes on launch day.”

He added, “Someone else mentioned that they don’t wanna drip feed the beta keys since it will kill the interest of the official launch and I wholeheartedly agree.”

Several players agreed with these opinions, as they feel Valve’s priority now is to fix bugs, and make sure the game is in an optimum state before its launch.

Counter-Strike 2 was announced on March 22 and developers said back then that more players would be given access to the beta over time. While most pros and streamers received the codes early on, a majority of players are still waiting around for access.

Steam banning CSGO scammers

Gergely Szabo, a CSGO skin trader, has just reported being banned on Steam for commenting ‘suspicious’ content on another user’s profile. This has raised eyebrows and it seems like Valve is attempting to crack down on CSGO trade scammers.

Trading is a big part of CSGO as plenty of skins are valuable in the game and get traded among players. Szabo is known to have a skin inventory of $475k.

This also gives rise to a lot of scammers who approach other players by commenting on their profiles on Steam to scam them for money or their in-game skins.

Szabo got unbanned by Steam after approaching Steam Support and so did other players in this situation who verified their identity and intentions to Steam.
