clock: Google finally fixes Google Clock missing alarm issue with an update – Times of India

After almost a week of users complaining about the Clock app missing alarms on their Android smartphones, a fix has been issued to users in the form of an update. A Google representative has confirmed on Reddit that the Google Clock not triggering the alarm has been fixed and the users should not face any such issue going forward.
To remind, Android smartphone users started reporting that the Google Clock app alarm does not go off at the set time. Later it was discovered that the issue is due to using Spotify as the alarm ringtone.
As a fix, both the apps have received an update. That means users will need to install the latest update for both Google Clock and Spotify app as a fix.
The post reads, “Thank you for your patience and bug reports. Clock and Spotify have rolled out a full fix which will allow you to use Spotify alarms again. Please update to the latest version of Clock and Spotify in the Play Store”.
In case you are still facing an issue with your Google Clock alarm, you can use your Calendar app as an alarm clock. Or the Alexa app can also act as an alarm clock for you. There are several third-party apps available on Google Play Store as well.
Meanwhile, Google is updating its Clock app user interface with the new Material design which is expected to arrive with the Google Clock app version 7.0.0. The updated clock is expected to roll out with Android 12 update and is currently available for users with Android 12 Beta 5.
