Cinq Music Group hires ex-UMG exec Amanda Tumulty as VP, Global Marketing

US-headquartered record label and distributor, Cinq Music Group, has named Amanda Tumulty as its new Vice President of Global Marketing.

Prior to joining Cinq, Tumulty spent over five years at Universal Music Group on the Global Consumer Marketing team specializing in Marketing Strategy & Operations.

In addition to her time at UMG, she held a position at Spotify, where she was responsible for all label advertising and on-platform global growth efforts. Her earlier experience also includes NBCSports and Ernst & Young.

“I am thrilled to join Cinq Music as the VP, Global Marketing. It is an honor to work alongside such a talented, passionate, and creative team to support Cinq’s iconic catalog,” said Tumulty about her new role.

President and co-founder of Conq, Barry Daffurn, stated: “At a time of rapid growth in our company, and the industry at large, marketing is a key differentiator. Not just for our artists, but for our company, as well.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Amanda on board to help us achieve our goals along with our amazing roster of talent.”

Tumulty will oversee all marketing strategies for the roster and the Cinq Music brand across multiple global territories.

“As the digital landscape has grown, so has the amount of content being released, which means it’s more important than ever to have a strong, data-informed marketing strategy to help cut through the noise and connect with fans,” Tumulty said about challenges facing marketing teams.

Over the past 12 months, Cinq has expanded its presence in various genres, having raised USD $100 million from its parent company – GoDigital Media Group – last year to grow internationally and via M&A.

One notable recent development is the opening of Cinq’s Nashville office, which signals the label’s foray into the country music market.

As part of this expansion, Cinq has also acquired its first country catalogs and signed new songwriters and recording artists.

In addition to Nashville, Cinq runs offices in global cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Bogota, Medellin, Seoul, Minsk, and Colombo.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Amanda on board to help us achieve our goals along with our amazing roster of talent.”

Cinq has also played a significant role in driving the growth of the regional Mexican genre in the past year. Acts distributed and launched through Cinq Music include Natanael Cano, Luis R Conriquez, Carin Leon, Fuerza Regida, Grupo Marca Registrada, Tito Torbellino Jr, and DannyLux.

Across all genres, Cinq’s repertoire includes heavyweights such as Anuel, Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, Janet Jackson, Sean Kingston, T.I., and hundreds more.

Cinq’s parent company is GoDigital Media Group (GDMG),  a multi-national holding company focused on “technology-enabled intellectual property rights management” across three verticals: (i) music, (ii) video, and (iii) brands.

GoDigital content is streamed more than 100 billion times per year.

Owned and operated media networks (through which it can promote and license its music repertoire) are a key part of GoDigital’s strategy – with a particular focus on the Latin community.

Alongside Cinq, GoDigital owns the likes of Latido Music (a 24-hour linear music channel focusing on US Hispanic audiences), plus mitú, which offers entertainment, news and music programming through a video-led platform.

Last summer, GoDigital teamed up with MEP Capital to acquire US-based NGL Collective, described as a “New Generation Latinx digital-first media and entertainment company”.Music Business Worldwide
