Google has launched its rival to Amazon’s Fire TV 4K – the Chromecast with Google TV – in India. The Chromecast with Google TV comes to India two years after its initial launch in the US in September 2020. Also, it is the second streaming device to come with Google TV in India after the Realme 4K Smart TV Stick.

The new Chromecast with Google TV will be available in India for purchase through Flipkart at Rs 6,399, and it will be soon available in retail stores across India. The Chromecast with Google TV comes only in one colour: Snow.
Customers purchasing the Chromecast with Google TV can purchase the Google Nest Hub for Rs 4,999 or the Google Nest mini for Rs 1,999. Google is also offering 3 months of YouTube Premium subscription for free.

The Chromecast is a plug-and-play device which allows you to stream content from your smartphone to a non-smart television. Now, with the Chromecast with Google TV, users can plug the device into their television’s HDMI port and enjoy their favourite OTT apps. The new Chromecast comes with remote volume controls and dedicated buttons for Netflix, YouTube and Google Assistant.
The new Chromecast supports 4K playback at 60fps. Furthermore, it enables support for HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The streaming stick has 2GB of storage and 8GB of internal storage. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) and Bluetooth.
