Cerulean Hidden Tear Nerf is a Bug, Will Be Fixed Soon in Elden Ring

The newest Elden Ring patch made several players unhappy by nerfing the Cerulean Hidden Tear, however, the change will soon be reversed in a future minor update.

FromSoftware is regularly publishing new Elden Ring patches, sometimes adding new content, sometimes buffing and nerfing certain items and abilities, shuffling the meta around. Even players who already spent hundreds of hours on the game can still have fun as quest lines are modified and new elements allow for further build experimentation. Not all of these changes are intentional though, and bugs can also occur.

Elden Ring Twitter Confirms Cerulean Hidden Tear Nerf Was Unintentional

The latest Elden Ring update, Patch 1.04 released on April 19, reduced the duration of the Cerulean Hidden Tear. Right now, Cerulean Hidden Tear only nullifies FP consumption for around 7 seconds compared to 15 seconds before the patch. See the test video by Japanese player YukinoSan further below.

However, FromSoftware later announced this was an unintentional change. Cerulean Hidden Tear will be back to normal via a future minor patch. Probably the next time the game gets updated.

All of this was announced by the Elden Ring official Twitter account several hours after the patch notes were published. Hence why many players missed the news.

Comet Azur and Meteorite of Astel Spam Will Still Be a Thing

Seeing Cerulean Hidden Tear reduces FP consumption to 0, one of the most common strategies with it is spamming Sorcery skills like Comet Azur and Meteorite of Astel. This pretty much lets you cheese a lot of bosses including Radahn or Mohg.

Elden Ring is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Be sure to check out our guides on the game, and let me know your thoughts in the comments!
