After a meeting with the Ministry of Education on Sunday, the Centre had asked all states to give in writing their opinion on how to conduct the exams for CBSE. Karnataka said option B is plausible. Plan B of CBSE says that the examinations will be conducted in the same schools where the students are enrolled only for major subjects. According to plan B, the exams will be of 90 minutes, of multiple options types and only in 19 major subjects. The students have to appear in one language and three elective subjects only. The exams will be conducted twice (July 15 to August 1 and August 5 to August 26).
“The pattern of examination and reduction of subjects to be attempted by the students are being deliberated upon by the state after the meeting held on 23.05.2021 under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Defence Minister of India,” said DPUE about the exam. However, it added that the Pre University Department has completed the pre-exam work and hence changing the pattern of examinations will be difficult. The students will be put under stress if the exam pattern is changed at this time of the year, it said. Sources said deliberations are being held about the number of subjects to be held.
In the letter written by Snehal R, director of the department of PU education, the department said it requires 75 days to schedule, conduct and announce the results of the examinations.
It also requested that all the all India entrance exams for professional courses to be held only after the CBSE Class 12 exams.
