Who doesn’t love a good heist story? It’s a genre that works particularly well in comic book form, as we’ve seen from critically acclaimed books like 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, Catwoman: Selina’s Big Score and Criminal. That’s why we have our eye on Cat Fight, a stylish new heist comic from IDW Publishing.
Cat Fight is written by Andrew Wheeler (Sins of the Black Flamingo) and drawn by Ilias Kyriazis (Collapser). The creative team also includes inker Auguste and colorist Dennis Yatras. Check out the slideshow gallery below for an exclusive preview of the first issue, including process art showing off Kyriazis’ pencils and inked, uncolored pages:
Here’s IDW’s official description for the series:
Caught up in the glamor and excessive lifestyle of an international career criminal, Felix Lamarr lives only for the thrill of the next big score. Suddenly contacted by his estranged and wealthy grandmother, he is shocked to learn that she is a storied career criminal herself—the lithe and legendary burglar Kitty Midnight—and that she wants him to partner with her cat-themed associates on a lucrative upcoming heist. Unaccustomed to collaboration, Felix declines Kitty’s offer…but a shocking incident sends his life into a sudden, chaotic tailspin. Framed for murder and on the run from a mysterious syndicate, he leaps at full-throttle from one international hot spot to the next in a deadly game of cat and mouse!
Cat Fight #1 will be released on Wednesday, May 31.
