CA July Exam 2021: How to avail opt-out facility, check here – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has released a notice on opt-out facility that how a candidate avail the opt-out option from the examinations due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The ICAI has mentioned several important points in the notice, which is available online on the official website of the institute i.e., icai.org.

In the notice, there are several conditions are mentioned for availing the opt-out facilities. Here we are mentioning these conditions in brief, however, for details candidates are suggested to read the official notice given at the end of this article

1) Candidate, who has suffered Covid-19 in the recent past i.e., on or after April 15, 2021. Such candidates can opt for opt-out option provided they need to produce RTPCR report. RTPCR report would not be required if they have medical certificate issued by the registered medical practitioner for himself/herself or his/her family member is presented along with the opting out.

2) Candidates, those who were affected due to the lockdown during examination period, can avail opt-out option from July examination and can appear in the November 2021 examination, if the situation is conducive to hold the examination.

3) A candidates can also opt-out from the examination, if he/she is diagnosed with Covid-19 in the middle of examination.

4) If a candidate has opted out in any paper during the entire cycle of examination, then he/she will not be permitted to appear n any of the remaining paper.

5) If the examinee has appeared for the first group and he opts out before the conclusion of the examination of the last paper of the second group, the result of the first group will be declared and opt out option will apply only to the second group.

6) If CA exams cannot be held at the examination centre due to restrictions imposed by the govt in this case also the examinees are entitled for opt-out and July 2021 examinations will not be treated as an attempt for them.

Candidates can appear in the next cycle of the examination i.e., November 2021, subject to conducive situation/ environment prevailing at the relevant time.
