“Imagine his friends and family at this moment. Virat Kohli goes out to him to give his congratulations. ‘Thanks for getting me out, don’t get me out again or you won’t play for India’ (laughs). No, just kidding,” Brett Lee joked on Star Sports.

After a good outing with the bat, a confident Brar came up with a glorious 11th over for his team. The left-arm spinner castled Kohli on the first ball and inflicted further damage by knocking off Glenn Maxwell’s off-stump on the very next delivery.

The Moga-born tweaker then got the golden wicket of AB de Villiers in his next over when the former South African captain chipped one straight into the hands of KL Rahul at extra cover.

“But imagine his parents and his family going – you got out Virat Kohli, fantastic. You got out Maxwell, brilliant. You got ABD! I mean what a game for him. Three massive scalps,” the former Punjab Kings pacer, who played for the franchise for 3 seasons, signed off.

Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris also praised the rookie Punjab cricketer, who could be a regular face in the PBKS playing XI for the rest of the tournament.

“It was an amazing spell, it was so good to see this youngster in just his third IPL game. This will give a life to Punjab Kings moving forward,” Styris said.
