BPSC 66th Main exam 2021 to be held from July 29 to 31; admit card from July 22 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Saturday announced the revised schedule for the 66th Main (Written) Competitive Examination 2021. In this regard a notice has been posted on the official website – http://www.bpsc.bih.nic.in/.According to the notice, the BPSC 66th Main Written Exam will now be conducted from July 29 to 31, 2021. Earlier, the BPSC 66th Main examination was scheduled to be held in June.

Candidates can download their admit card from the official website seven day prior to the commencement of the examination i.e., from July 22, 2021.

Due to the surge in Covid-19 cases in the state, the BPSC had postponed the exam scheduled to be held June 4, 5 and 8, 2021.

The written examination will be in three subjects, in which two compulsory subjects, General Hindi – 100 marks and General Studies (two papers) will be of 300 marks each.

Apart from this, it is mandatory to keep any of the following optional subjects as optional subjects. Each optional subject will have a paper of 300 marks. The optional subjects are – Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology, History, Labor and Social Welfare, Law, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology, Hindi Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Urdu Language and Literature, Bangla Language and Literature, Sanskrit Language and Literature, Persian Language and Literature, Arabic Language and Literature, Pali Language and Literature, Maithili Language and Literature.

The duration of the examination for each subject will be 3 hours. Answers to all subjects can be given in one of the languages Hindi or English or Urdu. Candidates will not be allowed to answer in any other language.

Earlier, the BPSC had extended the application registration date from May 7 to 17 May (till 5 pm) in the Commission’s office. Total vacancies are 691.

Candidates declared successful will be interviewed on the basis of the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained by them in written examination. For which 120 marks is prescribed. Successful candidates in the main examination are required to appear in the interview and based on the sum of marks obtained in the written examination and interview, the merit list will be prepared and the final exam results will be declared as per rules.
