Board, Huey voted Mid-South Conference Baseball Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Gabe Board and Freed-Hardeman’s (Tenn.) Alex Huey were named Mid-South Conference Baseball Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. MSC Baseball Player of the Week

Gabe Board – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – So. – IF – Lyon County, Ky.

• Board batted .571 (8-for-14) with four doubles, four RBIs and five runs scored in three games for the Blue Raiders
• He was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored in the first of three games versus Pikeville (Ky.)
• The sophomore posted three more hits with a double and three RBIs in the second contest against the Bears
• He recorded two hits with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in the series finale
• This marks the first weekly honor of the season and first of his career for Board

MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Alex Huey – Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) – Jr. – Chapel Hill, Tenn.

• Huey tossed seven shutout innings for the win in the series opener against Campbellsville (Ky.)
• The junior lefthander allowed just two hits and retired the first 12 batters of the game before a leadoff walk in the fifth for the Tigers
• He struck out 10 and did not allow a baserunner past second in the 5-0 victory
• This marks the first weekly honor of the season and second of his career for Huey
