BGMI Servers Go Under Maintenance Just As Krafton India Announces the Return of the Game

It’s only been a few hours since Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) developers Krafton, announced the return of the game to India. According to fresh reports, servers have now already gone under maintenance, in preparation of the homecoming of India’s No 1. mobile Battle Royale title. This is another sign suggesting that it’s only a matter of time before the game is downloadable again.

BGMI servers soon to go under maintenance

Earlier today BGMI developers Krafton officially announced that BGMI “will be available for download soon”. The developers also mentioned that they’re “highly grateful to the Indian authorities for allowing us to resume operations of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).”

While the game vanished from App Stores, they weren’t really unplayable if one had the game downloaded on their phones. But according to a new report, if players now open the BGMI app, a notice pops up, informing that BGMI servers will be unavailable for a while. It suggests that the developers are coming up with “a better and bigger experience”. This implies that the servers will soon go under maintenance, preparing for the game’s comeback on the app stores. Additionally, the message also mentions that accounts of the players will be safe, and their progress will be retained in the meantime.

Krafton is expected to soon announce the exact date of BGMI’s official “unban”. The notice one can now see within the game includes the following,

“We will keep you informed of further developments and the release date through our social media platforms.”

BGMI was removed from the App Stores of India last year, on July 28th, under section 69A of the IT Act, 2000. Earlier today, Vibhor Kukreti, the Head of Government Affairs at Krafton India, in their announcement of BGMI’s comeback said,

“Krafton is a responsible South Korean organization that abides by the law and has put in place several measures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. We work tirelessly to ensure that India takes the lead in this domain by embracing innovative practices in collaboration with the gaming ecosystem to support, sustain and promote its growth.”
