BGMI: Krafton Is ‘Continuing Its Efforts’ to Get Game Unbanned in India as War Mania CEO Teases a Return Date

BGMI and PUBG publisher Krafton has released its earnings press release for Q3 2022, and the company has mentioned that it is continuing its efforts in bringing BGMI back to India.

“Krafton is continuing its efforts to resume services for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and will continue investing in the Indian games market,” it said in the report.

The Indian government issued an order to ban BGMI as it was pulled from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store on July 28, 2022. Since then, there have been a lot of speculation and rumours going around regarding its return to the country.

War Mania CEO teases return date for BGMI

Esports tournament organisation War Mania’s CEO Hrishav Bhattacharjee says that the mobile is game is expected to return soon.

During a recent Instagram Live session with his fans, he was asked about BGMI’s return. The CEO said that the game is set to come back to India sooner than expected. “According to the latest updates, the game is returning very soon, even sooner than expected,” he said (via AFKGaming).

He even added that the game should be out between December 25, 2022 to the first week of February 2023, and esports activities for the title will begin in March. “During this period, you will get to see a lot of things and announcements. You will also get an official announcement from Krafton,” he said.

The CEO said global matchmaking in BGMI might not be available upon re-launch. Krafton could work with the Indian government to “meet certain criteria put forward by the government.” If this happens, then global matchmaking could arrive to the game in the next six or seven months.
