BGMI: Krafton CEO Comments on the Return of the Title to India

Battlegrounds Mobile India is a game that has been on Indian players’ minds, ever since the game released. The title rose to popularity within days and soon the whole country was playing it day and night. Due to its immense popularity, the game also ended up giving us some of the most popular gaming influencers in India, while also providing a major boost to India’s Esports scene.

All was going good until the Indian government decided to ban BGMI due to security concerns. Since then, players have been experiencing a void in their daily live, as they continue to find alternatives to the title. Even then, many remain hopeful about the game making a comeback soon.

Krafton CEO Comments on BGMI Return

As spotted by Gemwire.GG on Instagram, Krafton’s Q&A session for Q4 2022 Earnings Call featured something about the title’s return. It provides us with a comment from Krafton CEO, Changhan Kim, on the current status of BGMI’s potential suspension revoking.

Kim stated that the developers have been pulling all the stops in order to unban BGMI in India. He added that the team believes that 2023 will be the year when the “uncertainties will start to mitigate” in select regions, which will provide Krafton and the players with a “positive outcome.”

In the end, it remains to be seen if his statements will bear fruit anytime soon, as players continue to wait for the return of BGMI.
