BCD Travel is making a new invoice data set available through its Invoice API that the travel management company says enables automation and efficiency in the expense process.
The data set combines trip information with the ticket transaction’s financial details, a breakdown of fare and taxes and the status of the ticket and individual coupons within the ticket. BCD is using the API for its own BCD Pay spend management platform, and it also is making it available to its customers and developer partners through its BCD Developer Hub, where it can “solve a variety of use cases for travelers, travel managers and finance teams,” according to BCD SVP of product planning and development Yannis Karmis.
Expense management provider Mobilexpense is the first of BCD’s partners to use the API in development, tapping it to prepopulate expense reports with trip and invoice data. That “further enables us to provide an accurate, real-time calculation of the total trip cost for an improved expense reconciliation and settlement process,” Mobilexpense CEO Thibaud De Keyzer said in a statement.
BCD plans to add receipt images for both BCD and non-BCD invoices to the API’s capabilities later this year, according to the TMC.
