Barbie and Oppenheimer have once again won the domestic weekend box office with ticket sales of $93 million and $46.2 million, respectively. Newcomer Haunted Mansion put up a good fight with a debut performance of $24.2 million, but it couldn’t muster up enough scares to take down the behemoth known as Barbenheimer.
As reported by Comscore, Barbie and Oppenheimer only saw a week-over-week decline of 43% and 44%, respectively, and continue to perform very well in their second weekend in theaters. Barbie has reached a North American total of $351 million and a global tally of $774.5 million while Oppenheimer has brought in $174 million domestically and $400.48 million worldwide.
Disney’s Haunted Mansion, on the other hand, has earned $33 million worldwide. This second attempt to bring the iconic Disney Parks ride to the big screen has a long way to go to recoup its $150 million production budget before marketing.

Sound of Freedom took 4th place with $12.4 million and has pushed its domestic total to $148.9 million. Rounding out the top five was Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which took $10.7 million domestically in its third weekend in theaters. So far, the latest Mission: Impossible has earned $139.23 million in North America and $448.5 million worldwide.
