Atlus survey asks people if they want series like Persona on Switch and Xbox

Persona on Switch and Xbox

What platforms will Persona 6 debut on?

Persona on Switch and Xbox? I mean, probably one day! Atlus just put out lengthy survey (with an approximate completion time of 45 minutes) that covers pretty much all things related to the company, including all sorts of potential platform implications.

The survey, which is now closed, asked open-ended questions about whether or not fans would like to see Atlus franchise games on various platforms. Shin Megami Tensei and Persona were mentioned by name under Persona on Switch and Xbox options, as well as theoretical remake or port projects. These sorts of periodic check-ins are the norm for many companies, but they’re often precursors for change. Naturally if an overwhelming amount of people respond, and the Switch is in-demand (which it is), it could spur some sort of shift for platform availability.

There are a ton of other considerations (especially when it comes to the Xbox platform as it relates to Japan), but it’s entirely possible that Atlus could shift away from the “PlayStation first” Persona standard eventually (“any day now” right). And the same goes for Shin Megami Tensei games erring on the side of Nintendo portable devices.

Atlus sometimes works in mysterious ways, but it generally errs on the side of whatever the most popular system is at the moment (especially in Japan) as the flagship. Seeing Persona 6 on PS5 and whatever the next Shin Megami Tensei game is on whatever the Switch successor is wouldn’t be a stretch. But the company is likely going to be around for the long haul, and things can change.
