NEW DELHI: Smartphone maker Asus recently launched its flagship Asus Zenfone 8 smartphone globally. The company delayed the India launch of the smartphone due to the ongoing second wave of Covid-19.
Now a new Google Play listing reveals that Asus will launch the Zenfone 8 in India as Asus 8Z. The name of the smartphone is listed along with model numbers ASUS_I006D and ZS590KS. The list does not mention anything about the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip, so the smartphone is not expected to launch in the country.
To recall, the Asus Zenfone 8 is launched at $599 and it is expected to come with a starting price tag of Rs 45,000 in India. It is also expected that in the coming days the company will also reveal the official launch date of the smartphone.

Asus Zenfone 8 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor coupled with 6GB/8GB/16GB of RAM. The smartphone comes in three storage variants — 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
The Zenfone 8 features a 5.9-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution.
The display offers 120Hz refresh rate and is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top.
The smartphone runs Android 11 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of ZenUI 8 and offers dual SIM support.
Asus Zenfone 8 comes with IP68 rating which makes the smartphone dust and water-resistant. The handset also comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers.
In terms of camera, Asus Zenfone 8 sports a dual rear setup with 64MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 12MP ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. You will find a 12MP front camera for selfies on the smartphone.
Asus Zenfone 8 is backed by a 4000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
