“The LED raths will make people aware about the work done by the state and central governments and appeal to voters to vote for the BJP,” Swatantra Dev Singh, UP BJP president told mediapersons in Lucknow.
The BJP has also set up teams comprising five members who will start special Jan Sampark programmes across the state from Tuesday. BJP leaders will reach out to voters in 1,74,000 polling booths with the slogan ‘Puri Hui Aas, Har Ghar Ka Vikas’. The contact programme will focus on women, OBCs and ST community and beneficiaries of several government schemes. “We have made a list of 15,000 influential people from the OBC community and they will reach out to voters in small groups in their regions of influence. The programme has been going on since January 4. With the new restrictions, the group has been rearranged to follow Covid protocol,” Daya Shankar Singh, UP BJP vice-president, told ET.
The party has also set up a war room at the West UP regional office in Meerut, as west UP will go for polls in the first two phases. Around 100 people are currently looking after social media, IT infrastructure and call centres in the war room.
“We have formed 25,000 WhatsApp groups up to the booth level and are equipped to hold digital rallies,” Mohit Beniwal, BJP’s West UP president told ET. “During the Jan Vishwas yatra, we received tremendous support from people in west UP. We will carry forward that enthusiasm now with the digital outreach.”
