Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, which is set to be based in Feudal Japan, could release as early as 2024.
As per a LinkedIn post by Arisa Lagunzad, an Ubisoft business development and brand partnership executive (spotted by mp1st), there is a loose hint about a possible 2024 release window for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. Lagunzad mentioned seeking a sponsoring partner for the game for the next year, which has led players to speculate on a potential 2024 release. However, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, as it may not be entirely confirmed.
In the same LinkedIn post, Langunzad mentioned that Japan has been the most requested historical setting from Assassin’s Creed fans. They also highlighted the franchise’s expansion into the “multimedia front,” including the addition of podcasts and manga series. The idea of an Assassin’s Creed manga is exciting, and if it were to be adapted into an anime series, it would be a delightful treat for fans.
In September 2022, Ubisoft unveiled Infinity, a new platform and hub for Assassin’s Creed games. As part of this announcement, the company introduced two games for the platform: Assassin’s Creed Codename Red and Codename Hexe. Details about these titles and their release dates were scarce at the time. This comes after another Ubisoft employee claimed that Assassin’s Creed: Codenamed Red is launching next year.
As for this year, Ubisoft will release Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is set in Baghdad. Players can learn about the real history of the game while playing through its fictional story. The game will come out on October 12 this year.
