Ubisoft is set to upgrade an older Assassin‘s Creed game for the modern consoles as the developer. The developer has revealed a new upgrade for 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins that will offer players a 60 fps (frames per second) frame rate. This update is expected to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on June 2.
However, the boost doesn’t seem to offer 4K support or other visual advancements. Yet, the company claims that the new display upgrade will be interesting for gamers who haven’t played the game in a while. The game has shared a tweet from its official Twitter account to announce the 60fps upgrade.
Assassin’s Creed Origins upgrade: Almost a year late
Ubisoft has not made it clear what prompted it to offer a 60FPS boost to a game released three years before PS5 and Xbox Series consoles were even released. However, in 2021, the developers released a similar upgrade for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which was released a year after the Origins title.
Assassin’s Creed Origins has been one of the better-received recent games in the franchise, yet Ubisoft decided to upgrade the newer title earlier. The developer might also aim to rejuvenate players’ interest in the series before it launches Assassin’s Creed Infinity. This new update might be a good excuse for players to return to an alternate reality that is set in ancient Egypt.
