Arica Ng, the former Head of Music Business Development, Asia Pacific, at Meta, has been named as President, Asia Pacific, at Warner Chappell Music.
In her new role, Ng will oversee WMC’s operations across Asia Pacific, including developing and implementing strategies to bolster the company’s position as “one of the region’s leading music publishing companies,” according to a Tuesday (March 14) announcement.
Ng will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to Guy Moot, Co-Chair and CEO of WCM.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the music and tech industries, Ng joins WCM from Meta, where she spearheaded the launch of music initiatives across the Meta family of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, and Oculus in Asia Pacific.

Prior to her three-year stint at Meta, Ng served six years at Google, where she was Head of Music Publishing, Asia Pacific, in charge of music publishing partnerships for both YouTube and Google Play Music in the region.
She was previously the Head of Music Partnerships, Greater China & South East Asia, at Google, where she was helped launch and build out YouTube Music’s regional teams.

Ng also held senior roles at Sony Music Entertainment, Nokia, and SingTel. She was responsible for music business strategies, content acquisition plans, and marketing functions across Asia for these companies.

Ng’s appointment comes as WCM bolsters its presence in Asia Pacific and the wider Asia region.
In January, WCM promoted Ru Ping Gan as its Vice President of Digital, Asia Pacific, overseeing the region’s digital strategy and commercial operations.
WCM Korea in November renewed its global partnership deal with 153/Joombas Publishing, covering the entire catalog of the latter company including songs written for acts like BTS, EXO, GOT7 and SEVENTEEN, and in September, entered into a new licensing agreement with Beijing-headquartered short-form video platform Kuaishou.
