arc: Intel launches Arc GPUs, its first discrete graphics processor: All details – Times of India

Intel has forayed into the discrete graphics segment. The company has announced its Intel Arc graphics product lineup for laptops. Within the Arc graphics product lineup, the company has announced the Arc A-series graphics based on the new Xe HPG architecture.
The company has mentioned that right now, the new graphics processors are dedicated for laptops only and they will introduce the desktop and workstation versions later this year.
The company has currently announced three GPUs under the Arc lineup — Arc 3, Arc 5 and Arc 7. The naming convention is similar to its Intel Core processors and as per the naming, the Arc 3 is the most basic GPU the company has to offer, while the Arc 5 sits in the middle of the lineup and the Arc 7 is at the top of the line GPU from the company.
Intel Arc GPUs: Features and more
The Intel Arc 3 includes two models — A350M and A370M. The former comes with 1150MHz clock speed, 6 Xe-cores, 5 ray tracing cores and has up to 35W power envelope. The A370, on the other hand, comes with 8Xe-cores, 8 ray tracing cores and a 1550MHz clock speed. Both feature 4GB GDDR6 RAM.
According to the company, the Arc 3 is capable of handling up to 1080p 60fps gaming in several triple-A titles.
In addition to that, the company will expand the lineup with the launch of A550 under Arc 5 and A730M and A770M later this year based on the similar architecture.
In terms of other features, the new GPUs from the company are the first GPU to offer hardware-accelerated AV1 encoding, along with features like Deep Link that basically shares the resources between Arc GPU and Intel CPU to offer optimised performance.
